Human Welfare and Research Foundation Canada is a charity dedicated to uplifting lives through compassion, support, and service. What began as a small group of neighbours committed to helping those around them has grown into a registered Canadian charity touching thousands of lives each year.
Our core purpose is showing humanity through action — supporting vulnerable community members, promoting well-being, and fostering inclusion so that everyone feels seen, supported, and empowered.
Today, HWRF operates programs focused on newcomer settlement support, seniors well-being, and mental health services — always guided by the belief that every good act is a charity and that together we can change the life and change the world.

Vijay Dasoar, CA, CES
President & CEO
Founder of HWRF Canada and an established businessman for 45 years who owns and operates the construction and engineering firm Shiva Group Canada Inc. His vision is to extend worldwide assistance to human welfare — bringing peace and harmony to individuals, families, nations, and communities.
Sohanlal Kumar
Director
Professional Engineer who has served in India and Canada; a long-time community-services volunteer providing audits and financial oversight, now serving HWRF Canada full-time as a Director and helping individuals access employment and further studies.
Anju Kumar
Director
A dedicated volunteer and director serving hospitals and community organizations in Edmonton for several years; a responsible manager trained in CPR, First Aid, and health & safety protocols.
Roop Rai
Director — Drug Awareness Advocate
A dedicated advocate who has helped many families and youth become drug-free and rebuild their lives, saving marriages, families, and lives across the Edmonton community.

An engineer by profession with a strong commitment to public service — serving the Edmonton community with professionalism and leadership, passionate about giving back through active volunteering.
